We Are Open – Safety is Our Top Priority!
We’ve reopened in accordance with CDC, O.S.H.A., and State Dental Board guidelines to responsibly resume seeing our patients for regular dental appointments and treatment. We want to assure you of the measures we take to maintain a clean and safe environment so you can continue to receive needed dental care without fear or concern.
Our preventative care dental exams will help prevent many major dental problems by catching dental problems early on, when they are the most treatable. We suggest that our healthy patients come in for a dental exam and cleaning every six months.
When you visit our office for a routine dental exam, our dentist will check for the following:
- gum disease
- a loss of enamel from grinding your teeth
- oral cancer
During the exam, you can ask any questions that you have about oral hygiene, cosmetic procedures or anything else that concerns you. Our dentist will talk to you about your overall oral health as well, letting you know if you have a higher than average risk for cavities or gum disease.
Call us today to schedule an appointment for a dental exam in Sturbridge. We look forward to serving you.
Why Do I Need a Teeth Cleaning at the Dentist’s Office?
The dentist or hygienist uses special instruments to remove tartar, which are not available for you to use at home. No matter how vigilant you are about oral hygiene, some plaque will remain on your teeth. Additionally, during your exam, you will have your teeth buffed smooth and any stains removed, so your teeth will be exceptionally clean. You will have the option of having a fluoride rinse as well.
Where Can I Get Gum Disease Treatment?
We offer periodontal treatment to our patients to help prevent tooth loss. If you notice that your gums are red, swollen or bleeding after you brush them, call us right way for an appointment. Left alone, gingivitis often leads to full-blown gum disease, called periodontal disease. If you notice that your gums are starting to recede, you need treatment right away. Contact us to schedule an appointment, and during your dental exam, our dentist will look for evidence of gum disease.
What Can a Dentist Do About My Bad Breath?
If you have bad breath that does not go away no matter how much you brush, call our office to request an appointment. Our dentist will check for the common causes, such as decay, bacteria on your tongue or gum disease. Often, our dentist can suggest at-home oral health care that will eliminate your bad breath. Call our office to schedule an exam with our dentist to take care of your bad breath quickly.
What is a Mouth Cancer Screening?
Oral cancer is curable if caught early; however, when new cases are not discovered until the cancer is advanced, the person’s odds of surviving go down significantly. Speak to our dentist about what you should look for at home, which can help you spot a potential problem in its earliest stages. Everyone over the age of 18 should have an oral cancer screening annually.
When you need a dental cleaning and a dental exam in Sturbridge, call our office to arrange an appointment. We look forward to meeting you.
